If you are not a full-time resident of northwest Colorado, you may need to make arrangements for someone to appear in Court on your behalf.
Criminal: In most non-felony cases, the Court and District Attorney will grant you permission to return home while your case is pending. You must request permission to leave Colorado if you have posted a bond. Your bondsperson will need to file a form indicating that they consent to your leaving. You must also provide a waiver of extradition. If you are a non-resident and have a pending case, call me to discuss how I may be able to appear on your behalf. You may be able to resolve your case without ever appearing in Court.
Civil: Other than the trial date, you are not typically required to appear in Court.
Family/Divorce: If you have a divorce or custody case in northwest Colorado, you may or may not be required to appear in-person before the Court. If you are unsure of your obligations to appear, please call me to discuss.
